We have finally got our hands on a Butterfly Labs ASIC miner.  As most of you know, production release dates have been a enormous problem for BFL.  The miner we are testing was ordered in March 2013, it was received October 31st 2013. As you can imagine, the wait time essentially nullified any chance of making a quick return on investment.  With ASICs flooding the market, the mining difficulty is pacing with the production numbers.  Want to make a good return on your mining investment?  Get "fast hashing" hardware quickly.

It has been around for sometime now; however, it hasn't gained much popularity.  There are several reasons why p2pool hasn't gained traction in the mining world.  The most prevalent being, that it's more difficult to initially setup.  The other factors are a higher variance (slower payouts), and regular pools are basically point-and-go.

How to Configure Cgminer for Bitcoin-Litecoin (Linux)

How to configure Cgminer to mine bitcoin, and litecoin.

This seems to be a popular issue with mining crypto-currencies.  There are many nuances to get your mining configuration correct, and running stable.  Much of this is found by trial and error, because everyone's system is different.  Not to mention, each GPU has it's own personality, two identical gigabyte 7970 GPU's may behave quite differently.  Then, to make things more complex is the nature of the types of coins you are mining.  Mining bitcoin, is different than mining litecoin.  Cgminer will need to be configured properly for each coin network.
